Fortima adds a choice of fixed or variable chamber sizes, a wider 2.05 m camless EasyFlow pick-up, and an optional MultiCut precision cutting system, at a 50 hp power requirement — suited to operations wanting more bale-size flexibility or the option to chop the crop.
MultiCut is KRONE’s precision rotor cutting system, fitting up to 17 blades to chop crop into 64 mm lengths as it enters the bale chamber. Shorter chops absorb liquids more readily (useful for silage), pack more densely into each bale, and break up faster and more easily at feed-out. Blade groups can be selected (17, 15, 7, or 0 blades) to match the crop and desired chop length.
Fixed-chamber models (F 1250, F 1600) always produce one bale diameter. The variable-chamber V 1500 MC uses two chain-and-slat elevators and hydraulic tensioning to produce bales anywhere from 1.00 m to 1.50 m in diameter from the same machine — smaller diameters suit silage (easier handling), larger diameters suit hay and straw (better efficiency, less wrapping material per tonne).
